After breakfast, set off for Ngorongoro Crater, often called the Eighth Wonder of the World. This breathtaking conservation area is home to over 120 mammal species, including the iconic Big Five. It’s one of the best places to spot the endangered black rhinoceros grazing on the open plains and to see large pods of hippos lounging in the water. From your open-top vehicle, enjoy close-up views of Africa’s most famous wildlife, from lions, leopards, and cheetahs to jackals, hyenas, wildebeests, zebras, and buffalos. Midday, enjoy a picnic lunch by the hippo pool before heading to Arusha Airport for your flight back to Zanzibar.

Questions about this safari

Is this safari private?

Yes. The vehicle and guide are only for your group, for parties of up to 2 people. Larger groups: ask us.

When can it start, and can we change it?

It can start on any day that suits you, and we can change the lodges, the order of the parks or the number of nights.

Can children come?

This trip is for adults only. Ask us about our family safaris instead.

Can I book it on my own?

Not as a solo traveller: the price is for two or more. Ask us about joining a group safari instead.

Are airport transfers included?

We can arrange them for a small extra cost. Tell us your flight times.

Are the flights included?

Yes. The price includes a fixed budget for the flights in the itinerary; if the airline charges more for your dates, your quote shows it.

How much luggage can we bring on the plane?

Bush flights usually allow about 15 kg per person in soft bags. Leave the rest with us in Arusha or at your Zanzibar hotel.

What happens if a flight is delayed?

Your guide waits at the airstrip and tracks the flight with the airline. We adjust the day's game drive around the new arrival time.
