   You certainly can’t climb Kilimanjaro in a day, but our day tour of this iconic, snow-capped mountain will give you an excellent taste of why Africa’s highest peak is so popular. During the day, we will follow the popular Marangu Route and walk as far as the first hut – the Mandara – where our picnic lunch will be taken. As other trekkers continue upwards, bound for the summit, we will make the descent again and return to Arusha

   1. 06:00Pick-up from your hotel and a drive of about three hours to Marangu Gate.
   2. About 11:00Register with Kilimanjaro National Park and start walking up the Marangu Route, which approaches the mountain from the south-east.
   3. Through the forestThe trail climbs through the rainforest of the lower slopes. Picnic lunch on the way.
   4. About 14:00Reach Mandara Hut and rest for about 30 minutes, while climbers heading for the summit carry on upwards.
   5. AfternoonWalk back down to Marangu Gate, about 2.5 hours. The vehicle drives you to your hotel in Arusha or Moshi, or to the airport.
