After breakfast, you will begin your awaited execution to Ngorongoro Crater; considered by many to be the Eighth Wonder of the World. When you get your first gaze at this amazing caldera from the panoramic viewpoint, you will shortly realize why it has gained such modest popularity. Ngorongoro Crater is home to a variety of species including the Big Five. Ngorongoro Crater is one of the prime destinations in the world. It’s the best place to spot the endangered black rhinoceros, a meal close to the hippo pool which offers a great view of the lake and a large number of hippos enjoying the cool water of the pool. From the comfort of your open-roof 4*4 land cruiser (safari vehicle), you will have a chance to photograph and observe some of the most recognizable faces. Ngorongoro is home to a good number of predators including the lion (Simba), leopards (Chui), wildebeest (nyumbu), zebras (pundmilia), antelope, Cape buffalo, and many more.

Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in a single day is impossible, but our day trip offers a chance to ascend the first part of the famous Marangu route through the lush rainforest. The journey starts with a hotel pick-up from Moshi or Arusha, followed by a relaxing drive to the Marangu gate for registration. Your goal for the day is to reach Mandara Hut, the first stage of a full climb. After a picnic lunch along the way, enjoy a short rest at Mandara Hut before descending to the gate and returning to your hotel, relaxed and refreshed.

Questions about this safari

Is this a shared or private safari?

Shared: you travel with other guests in a pop-up-roof Land Cruiser, which keeps the price down. Your own party can be up to 7 people. The departure runs once at least 6 travellers have booked. Ask us if you'd prefer it private.

When can it start, and can we change it?

It can start on any day that suits you, but the route itself is fixed.

Can children come?

This trip is for adults only. Ask us about our family safaris instead.

Can I book it on my own?

Yes. Solo travellers are welcome; a single room costs a little more.

Are airport transfers included?

Yes, from and back to the airport.

What is the difference between joining and private?

On a joining safari you share the vehicle and guide with other travellers on a set date, which brings the price down. On a budget private safari the vehicle is yours and you choose the date.

Are park fees included?

Yes. Park entrance fees and taxes are included in every price on this page.
