We will pick you up from your hotel and after meeting the guide, chef and the other clients, we will drive to Tarangire National Park (2-hrs drive), which is famous for its diverse landscape. The park is particularly known for its abundance of ancient baobab trees and having the largest concentration of elephants in the whole country. It provides unique chances to observe the interaction between elephant families. We will do a game drive through the park depending on where they have reported sightings of animals (mostly predators, lions, cheetahs and leopards – as they are harder to spot). The herbivores like giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, etc. are plenty to see throughout the park. After lunch, we will proceed with the game drive and exit the park at around 4:30 pm when we will head to our campsite accommodation for dinner and sleep.

After breakfast, you will drive from Mto wa Mbu to Serengeti which takes about 6 hours (including all stops) as it transits through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We'll stop at the Ngorongoro Crater in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Arusha region and will also have a brief stop at the gate and viewpoint to look at the breathtaking view of the crater (20 minutes). Go on an optional visit to a Maasai village to visit and explore the culture of the great Maasai community known for hunting and killing lions to be considered a warrior, and drinking raw animal blood. These traditions, though, are a thing of the past. Arrive in the late afternoon and do a game drive in Seronera (centre of Serengeti) until the late evening. Experience the sunset in Serengeti while having a close view of wild animals. If you're lucky, you may see a predator hunting or on a kill. Later, head to the Seronera Campsite meal.

After an early breakfast, we will descend the crater on a journey to find the black rhino. Rhinos are the hardest animals to spot in the beautiful crater due to it being a floor crater. After lunch, we will do a game drive and then ascend the crater to return to the camp. We'll pack for the trip to Camp near Lake Manyara National Park.

Today, you will visit the majestic waterfalls. Along the way, your guide will share fascinating insights about the Chagga people, their village life, and the surrounding fauna and flora. The views are truly breathtaking, and with some luck, you might catch a glimpse of the Kilimanjaro summit. Upon reaching the waterfalls, you'll be amazed by their height, over 80 meters tall. The pool at the base is perfect for a refreshing swim, so don't forget your swimwear! After enjoying the stunning scenery, you'll return with your guide to Materuni village, where a traditional Chagga lunch awaits. You'll also have the chance to taste the local banana beer, an experience not to be missed! Good to know

Questions about this safari

Is this a shared or private safari?

Shared: you travel with other guests in a pop-up-roof Land Cruiser, which keeps the price down. Your own party can be up to 6 people. The departure runs once at least 6 travellers have booked. Ask us if you'd prefer it private.

When can it start, and can we change it?

It can start on any day that suits you, but the route itself is fixed.

Can children come?

Yes, from age 3. Children under 15 pay less.

Can I book it on my own?

Yes. Solo travellers are welcome; a single room costs a little more.

Are airport transfers included?

Yes, from and back to the airport.

What is the difference between joining and private?

On a joining safari you share the vehicle and guide with other travellers on a set date, which brings the price down. On a budget private safari the vehicle is yours and you choose the date.

Are park fees included?

Yes. Park entrance fees and taxes are included in every price on this page.
