Be immersed in Tanzania’s great outdoors on this full-day tour to Materuni and Kikuletwa–ideal for culture vultures and active travelers in the region. Start off on a hike to Materuni Waterfalls and enjoy a refreshing dip. Next, head to a local farm to learn more about Tanzania’s coffee industry. This comprehensive tour also includes round-trip transportation from your Arusha hotel, plus lunch.

    1. MorningDrive to Materuni, a Chagga village about 15 km from Moshi and the last village before Kilimanjaro National Park.
    2. Waterfall walkAbout 40 minutes on a forest trail to a waterfall more than 80 m high. The path can be muddy, so wear good shoes. On a clear day you may see Kilimanjaro's summit.
    3. SwimThe pool at the foot of the falls is cold and clear: bring swimwear.
    4. LunchBack in the village, a traditional Chagga lunch, and a taste of local banana beer.
    5. CoffeeLearn how coffee is grown, dried and roasted, then grind your own, often to Chagga songs, and drink the cup you made.
