About the stay
Why we use it
Sleep in the middle of the Serengeti, in a tent your crew pitches for you.
Seronera is the busiest wildlife area of the central Serengeti, and this public campsite is right in it. There is no fence, so the night is full of sound: hyenas whooping, lions calling far off, sometimes zebra walking past the tents.
Your crew puts up the tents and your cook makes dinner and breakfast at camp. Toilets and showers are shared with other campers. It is simple, but you wake up already in the park, so the first game drive starts at sunrise.
Wake up in the park
No drive to the gate: you're on the plains at first light.
Keeps the price low
Camping is how our budget safaris stay affordable.

FAQs
Can I add Seronera Public Campsite to a different safari?
Usually, yes, as long as the safari passes through Serengeti. Tell us which safari you like and we'll send the price with Seronera Public Campsite in it.
Can I stay an extra night?
Yes. An extra night gives you a full day of game drives without packing up. We'll add the night, the extra park day and the meals to your quote.
What happens if it's full on my dates?
We tell you before you pay anything, and suggest the closest match in the same area and price range.
What do I need to bring for camping?
A sleeping bag (we can hire you one), a head torch and warm layers for the evening. Tents, mattresses and meals are provided.
How do I pay?
Nothing is paid until you're happy with the quote. Then a deposit holds the safari: 20% for camping safaris, 40% for lodge safaris.
