About the stay
Why we use it
A campsite on the crater rim, so you are among the first down into the crater in the morning.
Simba sits high on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, at around 2,300 metres. Nights are cold all year, often close to freezing, and mornings are often misty. Bring a warm layer and a good sleeping bag (we can hire you one).
Animals wander through: buffalo sometimes graze around the tents after dark, which is why you stay close to camp at night. The road down into the crater is a short drive away.
On the rim
A short drive to the descent road at sunrise.
