After breakfast at your Arusha accommodation, our driver-guide will meet you for a brief orientation before departing for Tarangire National Park. This park is known for its scenic landscapes, with the Tarangire River winding through low-lying hills on the Great Rift Valley floor. The vegetation is mainly acacia woodland and giant African baobab trees, with expansive swamps in the south. During the Dry season, the river and swamps become magnets for a variety of wildlife. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds and is home to 3 rare species: the greater kudu, fringed-eared oryx, and ashy starling. Enjoy a picnic lunch and continue your game drive until late evening, then head to Karatu Safari Camp for an overnight stay.

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area, situated in northern Tanzania, is famous for the vast Ngorongoro Crater and its "Big Five" game animals: elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, and rhino. Each year, immense herds of wildebeests and zebras migrate across its plains. The semi-nomadic Maasai community also graze their livestock alongside the wildlife. Additionally, the Olduvai Gorge within the area is renowned for its hominin fossils dating back millions of years. In the afternoon, you'll leave the national park and transfered back to Arusha and you will be dropped at your hotel.

Questions about this safari

Is this safari private?

Yes. The vehicle and guide are only for your group, for parties of up to 7 people. Larger groups: ask us.

When can it start, and can we change it?

It can start on any day that suits you, and we can change the lodges, the order of the parks or the number of nights.

Can children come?

Yes, from age 3. Children under 13 pay less.

Can I book it on my own?

Not as a solo traveller: the price is for two or more. Ask us about joining a group safari instead.

Are airport transfers included?

We can arrange them for a small extra cost. Tell us your flight times.

What is the difference between joining and private?

On a joining safari you share the vehicle and guide with other travellers on a set date, which brings the price down. On a budget private safari the vehicle is yours and you choose the date.

Are park fees included?

Yes. Park entrance fees and taxes are included in every price on this page.
